World War II Memorial

"The World War II Memorial commemorates the sacrifice and celebrates the victory of 'the greatest generation.' Friedrich St.Florian’s winning design balances classical and modernist styles of architecture, harmonizes with its natural and cultural surroundings, and connects the legacy of the American Revolution and the American Civil War with a great crusade to rid the world of fascism." One of the most beautiful tributes to those who lost their lives defending our freedoms. The eagles in each of the towers are beautiful. The gold stars provide the stark reality of the loss of those who defended our country. The fountains are beautiful. A great place for our children to see, meet, and learn from the veterans visiting the site.
